The Role

AIRMO is seeking a Satellite image data analyst to join our mission of providing precise data on greenhouse gas emissions management. This role involves processing and analyzing satellite imagery and developing machine learning models for the identification and quantification of GHG emissions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and computer vision, with experience in data processing and programming. Experience in geospatial and remote sensing is a plus.

Your responsibilities in AIRMO

  • Develop and implement machine learning and deep learning models for satellite imagery analysis for GHG emission identification.
  • Develop algorithms for GHG emissions quantification.
  • Work with software engineers to build robust data pipelines and visualize model results.
  • Collaborate with the product team to create products that enhance climate risk management across various industries.

What you should bring to AIRMO

  • Experience in managing, processing and analyzing satellite or aerial imagery
  • Familiarity with hyperspectral and multispectral data
  • Extensive experience in Python, with focus on data handling (e.g. Xarray, Pandas, Dask)
  • Experience in building and maintaining pipelines and infrastructure for machine learning in distributed systems
  • Knowledge of atmospheric modelling tools and familiarity with GIS algorithms and software is a plus
  • Experience with image classification and anomaly detection

Requirements

The minimum requirements for applicants include:

  • Degree in computer science, machine learning, or a related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience in machine learning, image processing and computer vision  
  • Strong understanding of data processing and analysis.
  • Fluency in English.
